Porsche, Audi, Toyota, Peugeot, Glickenhaus, possibly Acura, perhaps McLaren and maybe more: the  Le Mans 24 Hours is back in vogue as we head towards the Hypercar era. But with all respect to these motor sport grandees, there’s another new entry that promises to be the real game-changer when it returns in 2023: a factory Ferrari team, and a first bid for outright victory at the Circuit de la Sarthe since 1973.

So who will drive the new 499P Hypercar? Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen will handle the No51, while the No50 – numbered to represent the amount of time Ferrari has spent away from Le Mans’ top class – will be driven by Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzi. Pier Guidi and Calado are no strangers to success with Ferrari, having celebrated three FIA World Endurance Championship titles together in the GTE Pro ranks. And surely they’ll be dreaming of more success to come.
