Description
Nigel Mansell signed Ferrari exclusive lithograph, limited edition print, 60x40cm.
Mansell instantly hit it off with Ferrari and its partisan Italian fan-base, earning the nickname of ‘Il Leone’ (The Lion) thanks to his courageous driving style. For the 1989 season the Ferrari 640, designed by John Barnard, was powered by a naturally aspirated, 3.5-litre, V-12 engine. The 640 quickly became recognisable with its sharp nose, narrow monocoque chassis and featuring a cutting-edge semi-automatic gearbox. Victories would come in Rio de Janeiro and at the Hungaroring, securing Nigel Mansell’s place as a Tifosi hero, and the last Formula 1 driver to be signed by ‘il Commendatore’ Enzo Ferrari.
