Crossing The Line, Raising The Bar / Michael Schumacher / Ferrari F1-2000 / Suzuka, Japan / 8 October 2000
One fateful day in Suzuka, the dreams of millions came true. A Scuderia Ferrari driver finally clinched the driver’s championship after two barren decades for Formula 1’s most iconic team. Behind the wheel was the man who would go on to become the greatest F1 driver of all time: Michael Schumacher.
Michael brought the title home in his red Ferrari F1-2000, sweeping his rivals aside and bringing joy to Tifosi worldwide. In crossing the finish line of the demanding Japanese circuit he not only marked the first Ferrari triumph since Jody Scheckter’s 1979 championship, but also won the first in an unprecedented record of five championships in a row – a new F1 monument.
Celebrating this extraordinary accomplishment and honouring Michael Schumacher’s 50th birthday, Automobilist has created a unique artwork that faithfully depicts this historic finish-line scene from a new perspective using our signature state-of-the-art techniques of composing 3D models and digital photography – and for the first time 3D scanning – to create an image of perfect quality with awe-inspiring detail. It took our team of specialist artists, technicians and designers several months to complete.
By owning this bold reminder of a historical F1 moment in the form of a strictly limited collectors’ fine art print, you will also be donating to Keep Fighting Foundation, a non-profit organisation founded by Michael Schumacher’s family, life-long friends and colleagues.
