Beautiful Italian livery box measuring 12 x 10 inches containing fabulously detailed model car, presented on a display base, hand signed by Phil Hill,

The Ferrari 156 was a racing car made by Ferrari in 1961, Phil Hill won the World Championship and Ferrari secured the 1961 International Cup for F1 Manufacturers, both victories achieved with the 156. Incredibly no original 156 survive, Ferrari reused engines and parts in future cars and the Championship winning race cars disappeared.

In one of the most hard-fought races of all time at Monaco, the ‘sharknose’ Ferrari’s which were newer and more powerful, tried but failed to catch and overtake the race leading, and year-old, Lotus 18 driven by Stirling Moss who went on to score a celebrated victory that he later said was the greatest in his career. Phil Hill said of the race, “it was like a race horse chasing a greyhound around a living room.” Phil Hill won the Italian GP at Monza, winning both the drivers and constructors Championships for Ferrari.

Our ‘quick-silver’ box set, comes complete in a branded presentation box containing a 1/18 scale Ferrari 156 model on a base hand signed by Phil Hill, with a photo Certificate of Authenticity.
