Description
Sir Jackie Stewart is a triple-Formula 1 World Champion, with 2021 marking the 50th Anniversary of his second title, and the first for the Tyrrell team. Sir Jackie was a keen safety advocate, and seeing the developments in helmet safety from friends like Dan Gurney, the first man to wear a full-face helmet in Formula 1, Sir Jackie was keen to follow and quickly adopted the ‘full-face’ helmet developed for motor racing by Bell, encouraging other drivers to adopt the design, and use seat safety belts.
The distinctive Royal Stewart tartan band, first applied to his open-face helmet by his wife Helen, was retained when he switched, and one of the most iconic helmets was born. Instantly recognisable today, it is one of the simplest but most distinctive designs of all time, and this official Bell replica in half-scale will be made to the same exacting standards as the real thing.
This exclusive limited edition is supplied in a tartan and RAD branded box, with sales benefitting Sir Jackie’s charity, funding break-through research into the understanding of Demetia.
All proceeds will go to RAD to fund breakthrough and innovative dementia research. This helmet is produced in partnership with, and endorsed by Sir Jackie Stewart, manufactured by Bell as an official, licensed replica in half-scale.
