Founded on 7 December 1941, the Club de Volantes Entrerrianos originally organised races such as the Carrera Turisimo on a temporary parkland circuit in Paraná. The Club acquired the land for a permanent circuit in 1963, and Carlos Reutemann was among the winners when the Autódromo Ciudad de Paraná was officially opened on 7 December 1969. Sud-Am Formula 3 regularly used the Short Circuit until final races in 2011.
