Situated in Córdoba province in central Argentina, Autódromo Oscar Cabalén opened in 1968, a year after the Argentinian racing driver had been killed while testing a sports car. South American series such as Sud-Am Formula 3 and Argentina’s TC2000 touring car championship have been Alta Gracia’s normal fayre although fast and smooth semi-banked Circuito No 1 held international Formula 2 races in 1968 and 1971. The latter was the last race to be held to 1600cc F2 regulations.
