The 2025 Goodwood Members’ Meeting is fast approaching, with an action-packed schedule of historic racing cars, driven by legends on an all-time classic circuit.

But among the returning crowd-pleasers, which sees Ford GT40s go wheel-to-wheel in the Gurney Cup and Ford Capri Mk3s trade paint in the Gordon Spice Trophy, will be a demonstration of more modern machinery.

The GT3 Shootout will feature a wide spectrum of homologated racers from 2006-2012 that will take to the Goodwood course on April 12-13 in a series of demos and competitive timed laps — which will follow the same format as the Sidecar Shootout which featured at this year’s Members’ Meeting.

Eight GT3 racers piloted by “legendary” drivers will aim to set the best lap time during Saturday’s qualifying session, with entries likely to include V10-engined Audi R8s, V12-engined Aston Martin DBRS9s and V8-engined BMW Z4s.

The fastest four cars will then go head-to-head in Sunday’s Shootout Final, where each will get one flying lap of the 2.4-mile Goodwood circuit, with the fastest being declared the winner.

It will be a rare opportunity to see modern racers at the Members’ Meeting.

GT3 racers are a more familiar sight on the Goodwood Hill. At last year’s Festival of Speed, two modern GT3 cars featured inside the top ten fastest times: a Porsche 992 GT3 Cup driven by James Wallis finished third and a BMW M4 GT3 driven by Philipp Eng finished ninth.

As well as the competitive action at next year’s Members’ Meeting, a field of 20 deafening GT3s — including entries from Ferrari, Lamborghini and Mercedes-Benz — will also take part in a demonstration on both Saturday and Sunday morning, where visitors will be able to revel in the noise and beauty of some of the most highly-tuned racers around.

Tickets, for Members and Fellows of the Goodwood Road Racing Club, are now on sale for the April 12-13 event, starting at £85 and can be bought here.
