F1 race start 2024 Miami GP

Last year's Miami GP threw up a shock result – will 2025 be the same?

Red Bull

Miami is the next stop on the 2025 Formula 1 calendar, the first of three races in the USA this season. Located around the Hard Rock Stadium – home to the Miami Dolphins – the temporary circuit has been created to have a permanent feel and made its debut in 2022.

The circuit features 19 corners, elevation changes, and three long straights – each with a DRS zone. It will also mark the second F1 Sprint of the year, after the Shanghai International Circuit hosted the first over the Chinese Grand Prix weekend.

In the UK, all sessions will be shown live on Sky Sports F1, with lights out for the race start at 21:00 BST on Sunday 4 May.

Lando Norris McLaren 2024 Miami GP

Norris will be looking to regain momentum in Miami

Grand Prix Photo

The 5.412km (3.3 miles)-long circuit in Miami Gardens was witness to Lando Norris’s first grand prix victory last season, and kicked off the start of McLaren’s F1 turnaround. As Oscar Piastri leads the drivers’ standings for the first time in his F1 career, and with team-mate Norris having a few mistake-riddled races as of late, Miami will be an interesting reference point.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen has the most wins here, having been victorious in 2022 and 2023, and will be undoubtedly hoping to make it a hat-trick this weekend.

Live TV

All the action from the three days will be available to watch live in the UK on Sky Sports F1. The first session will be Free Practice 1 which starts at 5pm BST on Friday 2 May, followed by Sprint Qualifying, the Sprint, Qualifying and the Grand Prix over the weekend. Subscribers can also download the Sky Sports App, which allows them to watch any driver’s onboard stream, as well as discover the ‘Battle Channel’ for the best fights on-track at any time.
