The straw bales are set, the verdant lawn is manicured and that glorious British Summertime is just revving up – it’s almost time for the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed, a motor sport spectacular set to be bigger than ever.

This year’s event, held on June 23-26, will see a celebration to mark the 30th anniversary of Nigel Mansell’s Formula 1 world title: one of Britain’s ultimate grand prix heroes will be piloting his championship-winning Williams FW14B up the famous hill climb outside Goodwood House to mark the occasion, and he will also be behind the wheel of his Ferrari 639, 640 and Lotus 91.

That’s not all though – the Duke of Richmond will also be hosting Jackie Stewart, Jenson Button, Damon Hill and many more motor sport legends, all getting behind the wheel to drive some of racing’s most iconic cars.

Tickets are still on sale for the famous automotive occasion and can be purchased from Goodwood’s website here.

Can’t wait that long? You can relive the thrilling action from last year’s event in the extended highlights video below, Goodwood having handily condensed four days of action into a 20-minute all-action racing reel.

Whether it be Mario Andretti putting his groundbreaking Lotus 79 through its paces, Roger Penske piloting one his team’s mighty Porsche LMP2 cars or Carlos Sainz’s Ford Focus taking on the gravel stages, the footage shows just how all motor sport tastes are catered for on the high-speed time trial.

There are also road cars on show, from the Aston Martin Valkyrie to the Lamborghini Huracan and McLaren 720s – that’s not mention NASCAR, drifters and two-wheel machinery.

With other racing legends driving including Jacky Ickx, Derek Bell and Richard Attwood, more than ever the Goodwood Festival of Speed is an epic motor sport show which is not to be missed.

Tickets can still be purchased via the Goodwood website, with the full list of drivers available here.
