“Goodwood has always prided itself on delivering the most incredible motorsport experiences around,” the statement said. “But in order to do that we must keep our fans, drivers, team members, volunteers and staff safe. As a result we have taken the sad decision to postpone the 2020 Festival of Speed. The safety and wellbeing of our customers remains our highest priority.
“These are dramatic and unbelievable times but they will pass, and we are already trying to think about just how exciting it’s going to be to welcome you all back to Goodwood for what perhaps might be the ‘Greatest Event Ever’.
“Goodwood is exploring alternative dates later in the year with all relevant parties. All tickets will remain valid for the new date when it is announced.
“A new date for the postponed 78th Members’ Meeting is also being reviewed.”
It was also announced that in place of the Members’ Meeting event, a live stream will be hosted by Goodwood Road & Racing of Members’ Meetings favourite moments.
The live stream will begin at 10am on Saturday, March 28 and run to 6pm GMT and continue on Sunday between the same time slot.
