The crowds are out on a Bank Holiday Monday as Eddie Irvine, in the Reynard of Eddie Jordan Racing, leads the DAMS Lola of Érik Comas in the much-missed Birmingham Superprix. Round 9 of the 1990 F3000 Championship was the fifth and final staging of the Superprix. Wonderfully, the paddock was in a multi-storey car park.
