Great Scot
Sir,
After reading and dreaming about the event for more than 45 years, I’ve finally had the good fortune to attend the Isle of Man TT. A highlight of the week was being able to view the races from close to the bottom of Bray Hill, where Sir Jackie Stewart and his son Paul arrived unannounced and mingled with the crowd.
I will admit that I monopolised Sir Jackie’s time while we discussed the TT and other diverse topics. He and Paul took the time to talk to anyone who approached and made everyone they met feel special.
In my 60 years I’ve had the opportunity to meet many sports stars and Sir Jackie’s approachability puts him absolutely at the top of my list.
