Hulme to be honoured

The life and racing career of Denny Hulme will be celebrated during the New Zealand Festival of Motor Racing, which will run over two weekends in January at the Hampton Downs track.

The organisers hope that up to 20 Can-Am and other sports-racing cars will contest a six-race mini-series on January 18-20 and 25-27 for the Denny Hulme Trophy. The trophy will be presented by Hulme’s widow Greeta.

Many ex-Hulme cars will be there including his irst race car, an MGTF, McLaren M8A and M8B Can-Am cars, and his 1973 McLaren M23 Grand Prix car. A big field of Formula 5000s will also be in action.
