HSCC Snetterton
A rare victory for the Lotus 70 Formula 5000 car was a highlight as the Historic Sports Car Club’s annual Snetterton weekend offered double-headers for many of the club’s championships.
James Denty starred at his home track to give the Lotus a win in the opening Derek Bell Trophy race, but any hopes of a double were dashed when he collected a puncture. Instead, Frank Lyons came through to win in his F5000 Lola T332.
That racing Lord, Paul Drayson, took time off from government activities to win the Classic Sports Car race in his Chevron B8, while Richard Trott bagged a Classic F3 double in his ex-Stohr Chevron B43.
