Teddy Yip
Enigmatic Formula One and Champ Car team owner Teddy Yip has died in his 90s.
A businessman based in Macau, Yip raced in the 1960s, but it was as the owner of Theodore Racing that he was best known.
In 1983, Senna won the Macau F3 race in a Ralt entered by Yip’s team.
Before that, Yip had constructed an F1 car and Keke Rosberg won the rain-hit 1978 International Trophy at Silverstone in the TR2. In ’81, Patrick Tambay took a Theodore to sixth place at Long Beach.
Yip quit F1 in 1983, but continued to enter race cars into the ’90s.
