All change for next season

Silverstone’s Historic Festival will move from its traditional late July/ early August slot to the summer Bank Holiday weekend of August 25-27 in 2001.

The meeting will henceforth follow the AvD’s Oldtimer Grand Prix, Germany’s showpiece historic event at the Niirburgring.

Having run annually since 1990, the second-biggest race weekend of Silverstone’s season attracted 90,000 spectators over three days this year, and Silverstone Sport is targeting several blue chip companies to take over the title sponsorship from Coys of Kensington.
