Rally FIVA
Several dozen (mostly foreign) entries have already come in for the 1996 FIVA World Rally, for pre-976 vehicles, which starts in Edinburgh on June 14 and finishes with driving tests on the Rover test-track at Gaydon on the 23rd. The 400 participating vehicles will be divided into three age categories with differing routes planned by Jim Porter who in recent years has routed the RAC and RAC Classic; entrants are thus assured an interesting and challenging journey. Night-stops will be at Windermere York, Nottingham and Stratford, with secure overnight parking at each place.
The rally is supported by Rover, whose director Frank Turner has been in charge of planning for some 18 months now. VCC, VSCC and BDC members form the committee under Lord Montagu, and they are determined to make this British rally a memorable one. Details on 01926 643048, or fax 643019. TJT
