Motor Sport F1/F5000 Trophy
A thundering field of historic F1 and F5000 cars will be the highlight of the HSCC meeting at Silverstone on September 19. The MOTOR SPORT Trophy race will bring together Grand Prix machinery from Williams, Wolf, McLaren, Fittipaldi, Osella, and Tyrrell, with Lola, Surtees and Trojan F5000 chassis. Other races include a round of the ultra-successful European Historic F2 Championship, HSCC Classic Sports Car Challenge, Road Sports races in the QED and Bailey series, and the QED Seven Club Championship. The meeting also hosts the MOTOR SPORT Concours, assembling beautiful thoroughbred machinery of many makes, all hoping to wrest the MOTOR SPORT shield from 1991 winner David Cottingham’s gorgeous Monza Ferrari.
Last year’s F1 race was very dramatic, being afflicted by heavy rain which did not stop these keen pilots from having a go. Given dry conditions, this year’s promises to be just as exciting and far more comfortable.
Half the admission price will be waived to those who produce a copy of September’s MOTOR SPORT at the gate.
