Brooks in cars!
In Australia, George Brooks ran his 1909 1 Humber twin in the National One- and Two-Cylinder Rally, and is completing the restoration of the 1913 Straker Squire he acquired in 1952. His well-known 1925 24/70 Straker Squire, brought to England some years ago, is in dock for a repaint.
George also has a 1910 38hp Daimler and a 1904 6hp De Dion, throne doing 8 mpg, the other very easy to prepare for a run and far more economical. Everyday transport is a 1962 Volkswagen Beetle, which he took over after his 1952 VW had run 190,000 miles.
