VSCC Colerne

VSCC Colerne

THE annual speed trial over a standing-start kilometre, with times for the quarter-mile and kilometre and speed over the finishing line, was held on the airfield near Bath on July 24th by kind permission of the CO, Lt Col C. A. Colvin. Admission was strictly by VSCC membership card only and it was the sort of gathering that makes membership of the VSCC so worth while. Some interesting

times and speeds were recorded by cars, the youngest of which was 25 years old and the oldest was over 75 years old. Drivers also ranged widely from 17 to over 70 years of age. FTD went to D. R. Morris driving his father’s 2-litre ERA and best Vintage time went to H. Moffat (Bugatti 35B), but S. Phillips (Lotus 16) recorded the highest terminal speed. The list below gives the best of two runs for the 1/4 mile, the kilometre and the terminal mph figure in order of speeds. Sec Sec MPH 1. S.
