BMW Supercar
The most powerful production engine yet produced by BMW will be fitted in a 635 Coupe at the Frankfurt Show this month. The normally aspirated six-cylinder engine, similar to that fitted in the M1, is rated at 286 bhp — enough to give the M635CSi a top speed of 155 mph.
Clearly BMW feel that they are missing out in the so-called “supercar” league against Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin and others, introducing a model which will have not only very high performance but ABS braking, power steering, four seats, and all the usual comforts. Production is scheduled for next spring, with right-hand drive availability in 1985.
