Fast Cobra
Sir,
I have recently purchased and thoroughly enjoyed reading Bill Corrall’s Ford Cobra guide (published by Tab Books). The one drawback with this publication is that it was written in 1964. In the chapter concerned with the “future” Bill Corrall talks of the installation of the 427 cubic inch V8 engine which we all know occurred and produced one of the world’s fastest cars. He also talks of a Cobra GT coupe based on a standard Cobra chassis and good for 260 m.p.h.
He describes it as one of the most unique ears ever built and itt the book there is a picture of a wooden mock-up of the car.
Out of pure interest I wondered of any of your readers know if any of these incredible cars were produced and whether any are in existence today.
