Anti-Compulsion
Sir, I appreciate your publishing a correction re my Austin 7 in the VSCC High Speed Trial, V-E-V Odds and Ends August issue.
May I add my support to your attack on regulations to force us to wear seat belts, etc. Although I do agree with seat belts and have been saved from a sore head on one occasion, many people do not feel comfortable and feel claustrophobic. Neither produces good drivers nor passengers. How you police it I don’t know.
As for the police-advocated Nazism, the idea is horrific and surely not acceptable outside Russia. We all make mistakes from time to time and many are best forgotten, not dragged through courts. In fact a warning from a policeman can be a lot more salutary than being taken to court. Let’s return to common sense and a little more flexibility in the interpretations of the law.
Great Horwood.
