In a rather subtle piece of publicity for a certain make of safety belt Polly Elwes, wife of Monte Carlo Rally taximan Peter Dimmock of the B.B.C. explains that, “The harness is not all that restricting. Even when I’m riding with baby in the back, I can attend to him quite comfortably,” she says. But the “powerful car” which Polly insists should have safety harness, is their Mercedes-Bens 300SL, and we wouldn’t have thought the well behind the seats the best place to ride while feeding baby.
