Police in Renaults

Renault are justifiably pleased that their cars were placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th in the XI Inter-police Rally, which this year was held in France, finishing at MontIery, and in which only 13 finished out of 23 starters. The winner was a Renault Dauphine driven by Guillaume and Touze, with 3,812 points, second place being taken by another Renault Dauphine driven by Dugue and Dallot (3,607 points), while a Renault 750, in the hands of Duredon and Tricot was third (3,547 points). The car which broke up a Renault grand slam for the first half-dozen places was a Volkswagen, these cars finishing in 4th, 7th, 8th, 11th and 12th places. The remaining places were secured by Goggomobils the Continental police are obviously rear-engine minded ! High average speeds were called for in the Auvergnes and Alps.
