WASHES AT WOODCOTE.—Mitchell, Crook and Peacock during the Goodwood August Members’ Meeting. Crook won this scratch race at
78.34 m.p.h. There was a DB I/ Aston-Martin in the running but it couldn’t catch the 2-litre Frazer-Noshes.
CONCLUSIVE !—Michael Hawthorn’s I .!-litre pre-war ” T.T.” Riley goes over the line in fourth place during the last race at the Goodwood Members’ Meeting, comfortably ahead of Tony Crook’s post-war 2-litre Frazer-Nash. These two were leading for the MOTOR SPORT Brooklands Memorial Trophy when this race started and both drove all they knew the whole way. Hawthorn finally netting the Trophy and E50 prize by one point !
