Winter, 1969 East Horsley, Surrey Long before the McLaren F1, Bruce McLaren had a vision of a fast, lightweight coupé road car, making it eligible for the Group 4 GT category. The prototype M6GT, registered OBH 500H, was used by Bruce as his personal transport. Top speed was 165mph, and it was noisy. The project was shelved when Bruce died in 1970.
