Whether you prefer a hard copy of a book or its digital equivalent, there’s no argument as to which has more scope for different types of content. This iBook on the McLaren MP4-12C GT3 car, which is only available on Apple’s iPad, features everything from videos to external links for more information on drivers, circuits and race series.

McLaren had nothing to do with this project, but you do wonder otherwise once you start swiping, clicking and reading. There are press releases in there as well as plenty of images, helping to guide you through the company’s history and the details of its GT3. The videos are also McLaren’s and the prose, which unsurprisingly lashes praise on the MP4-12C, rather sounds as though it were scripted within McLaren’s Technology Centre. Don’t let that distract you, though – if you want the MP4-12C GT3’s history at your fingertips, this will serve as a useful companion on your digital bookshelf. EF
