Reborn Maserati poised to star at Revival
One of the star cars at this year’s Goodwood Revival will be a reconstruction of the 1964/65 Maserati Tipo 151/3. It will be raced in the RAC TT Celebration by owner Barrie Baxter and Jochen Mass.
The reconstruction uses the 5-litre V8 engine, transmission and brakes from the original car, which reached 196mph at Le Mans. The striking coupe is clothed in a Drogo-designed body, which was crafted from the same buck as the original car. Entered in period by Maserati France, 151/3 was a one-off development of one of three 151s raced by the factory team at Le Mans in 1962.
