Red Bull: Drawing on its strengths
It would be foolish to discount Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull. The German might not have been able to repeat the form he’s shown over the past couple of years, but he’s a tough cookie. If anyone has the ability to come out on top in a development arms race, it’s Adrian Newey and his team at Milton Keynes.
It’s hard to believe that this year Vettel has won only in Bahrain, but his challenge was hit badly by his Valencia retirement, which resulted from a Renault problem. Meanwhile Mark Webber has triumphed in style at both Monaco and Silverstone and is still very much in the game, although lacklustre eighth places in the last two races have cost him.
