Hundreds of cars for Kop celebration

The centenary of the first Kop Hillclimb will be celebrated at princes Risborough on September 25/26, when more than 300 historic vehicles will take part in demonstration runs on the short hill.

The Kop (left) was first used for recognised motorcycle competition in 1910 and it stayed in use until 1925, when an accident on the hill led to the banning of competition on public roads.

Cars entered for the second Kop revival include several Ecurie Ecosse Jaguars from the stable of Dick Skipworth, Simon Taylor’s HWM Stovebolt Special and the 1913 Mercedes Grand Prix car of David Biggins.
