Injured McRae scores Manx win

Jimmy McRae scored a resounding win on the Isle of Man Historic Rally in his first event since a major accident in Kielder forest in April.

Back at the wheel of the Prepfab-entered Porsche 911RS, McRae shrugged off the after-effects of a broken wrist to score yet another win on the island’s challenging closed public roads.

McRae, partnered by Andy Richardson, led from early on. When asked how his wrist had stood up to the rally, he said: “It’s nothing that a bag of frozen peas won’t sort out.”
