Last Month: Begg-Chevy FM2 F5000
Where and when: Pukekohe, New Zealand, September 1969
Winner: Wolfgang Klopfer of Atenburg, Germany, recognised this machine — not surprising as he’s the author of books on F5000. Graham McRae drove drove FM2 on its debut in the NZ Gold Star series, but switched to a McLaren M10A later. The monococque FM2 was designed by Fred McLean and built by George Begg, mounting a wet-sump Comaro Z-28 unit.
