The Matra-Simca team was on top form at the Ricard 1,000 Kms., penultimate round in the World Championship for Makes, taking the leading two places. Beltoise and Jarier (below) celebrate an easy victory and a circuit lap record. British driver Martin Raymond drove a splendid race in his Lola to lead the 2-litre class by miles until his transmission failed shortly before the finish. Jacky lckx (bottom picture) helped the Gulf team to third place, sharing the GR7 with Derek Bell.
