"The Maserati Owner's Handbook,"

“The Maserati Owner’s Handbook,” by Hans Tanner. 160 pp. n 1 in in. (Floyd Clymer, 1268 S. Alvarado Street, Los Angeles, 6, California. 4 dollars.)

This paper-back hook contains a brief racing history of the Maserati firm by OCee Ritch„ and specification and data panels compiled by Tanner, dealing with all the recent Maserati models both racing and sports, as well as a lot Of useful information on the current 35oo G.T. models. In the details of the early post-war cars the 4-elliptic rear springing with radius arms, used on Maserati racing cars until the introduction of the de Dion layout for the 2501, in 1954, is variously described as torsion-bar, or 1-elliptic layout. The historical notes omit all mention of the 4C engine, the 4-cylinder 8-valve

This does not profess to be a complete Maserati ‘history but it contains much useful information and the pictures alone are worth having in one hound volume.—D. S. J.
