“‘Road and Track Road-Test Annual.” 96 pp., 11 in. by 8 in. Soft covers. (Available from P. & E. Stoneham. Is. 6d.) Of American magazines Road and Track publishes the most European of road-test reports so far as tabulation of performance data is concerned. These tests are brought together, accompanied by text and illustrations, in this book, which also contains the usual explanations of how the journal concerned conducts its road tests, together with a Buyers’ Guide to Sports Cars and a humorous test of the Poguar XK-25M pogo-stick. The cars covered are a fascinating

range, including Corvette Six and V8, Dyna-Panhard Junior Sports, Ford Thunderbird, Lancia Spyder, Osea 1,490-c.c. Spyder and Slats Spyder V8, cars not normally covered by the British road-test reports, as well as such interesting machinery, particularly when regarded from the dollar-angle, as 2.9 Ferrari, Jaguar XKI20C and X.K.140114C, Lancia Spyder, Porsche, Volkswagen, Borgward, D.K.W., Mercedes-Benz 300 and 300SL, Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn.
