October Races

The Bristol M.C. and L.C.C. were not deprived of their Castle Combe circuit by “foot and mouth” as we stated last month, consequently there is no question of their October 4th meeting at this excellent 1.84-mile circuit being cancelled.  Racing will start at 1.30 p.m., practising occupying from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. There will be Formula II and III and Formule Libre races, a 1½-litre racing-car event and sports-car racing, and an excellent entry has been secured, including Peter Walker’s s/c E.R.A.-Cooper, the F.II E.R.A., Alta, Ferrari and Cooper-Bristol, etc. All who can do so should make a point of attending this National Meeting near Chippenham, Wilts. There is something especially attractive about these end-of-season races; reminiscent of the Brooklands Autumn Meetings, with the nip of winter in the air, talk of the Motor Show and all the drivers trying their hardest.

On October 11th there is the big Scottish National Meeting at Charterhall, when the B.R.M. will try to repeat its Turnberry success, and on the same day the Nottingham S.C.C. will have its Club Silverstone races.
