Royal Automobile Club’s Motoring Spectacle to bring pioneer cars to London
Pall Mall will showcase cars from the past, present and future in new motoring event
Pall Mall in the heart of London is the venue for a new motoring event that will be launched in the capital this autumn.
The St James’s Motoring Spectacle, organised by the Royal Automobile Club, will take place on Saturday, November 2, with Pall Mall closed to traffic for the day. The Spectacle will cap the club’s annual London Motor Week activities which are completed the following day by the traditional London to Brighton Veteran Car Run.
Around 70 of the pre-1905 pioneers will sit outside the famous clubhouse, as one of five zones that cover motoring’s past, present and future. Emphasis will be paid to alternative technologies and sustainability.
“The Royal Automobile Club has always been at the forefront of promoting excellence and innovation within motoring,” said club chairman Duncan Wiltshire. “This free-of-charge new show will not only celebrate the freedom motorised transport has provided but also forecast the car’s role within a fast-changing world.”
