Raid Suisse-Paris
The 22nd Raid Suisse-Paris, one of Europe’s biggest classic car rallies, took place over three days at the end of August.
More than 60 cars lined up for the traditional Concours d’Elegance curtain-raiser in Basel, where ‘best in show’ was awarded to a 1931 Mercedes-Benz Nürburg 500. Then it was on to the business of reaching the French capital, via overnight stays at the Château La Dame Blanche near Besançon and at a choice of two elegant hotels in Troyes.
Overall winner of this regularity event was the 1967 Jaguar 420 of Andreas Locher and Manuel Uhlmann (below left), while a 1937 Packard 120 convertible claimed veteran class honours.
