Jagaur XF

Andrew Frankel

Jaguar has finally shown us what its new XF saloon, the replacement for the well engineered but unloved S-type, will look like. ‘Bold’ barely does it justice. To me the back and sides look great but the nose rather odd and surprisingly un-Jaguar. Then again, I was faintly disappointed when I saw the new XK both in the photographs and on the motor show stand. It was only when I saw it moving on the road that it all started to make sense, so I’m reserving judgement until I can see the XF in action. One thing seems certain, however: if the XF strikes a chord with the public, Jaguar could yet have a gleaming future ahead of it. If not, it’s hard to see any future at all.
