Three men in the same boat
The penultimate round of the TGP season set up a tense finale between Fredy Kumschick in his Williams FW07C, Mike Wrigley (Tyrrell 012) and the defending champion Mike Whatley (Ensign N175).
They face the late-October Estoril finale split by a point after Kumschick romped to a victory at Magny-Cours. More class success for Wrigley and Whatley kept them in the frame.
Joacquin Folch and Richard Eyre (both FW08s) made it an all-Williams podium once Hubertus Bahlsen had retired his Arrows on the third lap.
