Ferrari has a magnificent record on the legendary Mille Miglia — eight wins between 1947 and 1957. Originally published in 1987, and authored by the ’50 and ’53 winner (both occasions in Enzo’s cars) this is a detailed account of those glory years.

This greatly revised and expanded version is a very worthwhile investment Packed with rare photographs, driver reminiscences, biographies of Ferrari victors, stats on all its race entries and with a preface by II Commendatore, I cannot do justice to the wealth of material available here. Best of all is the section devoted to previously unpublished period technical reports and documents, including Alberto Ascari’s hand-written pace notes. This is an invaluable volume for historians. IM
