Wattie's school

Former Grand Prix star and winner of the 1981 British Grand Prix at Silverstone, John Watson, has lent his name to a new organisation at the Northamptonshire circuit which has taken over and expanded the Silverstone Racing and Skid Schools. The John Watson Performance Driving Centre will begin to enrol customers at the Racing Car Show on January 5.

The modus operandi will remain virtually the same as it is now, but a new emphasis will be placed on encouraging owners of high performance cars who have no intention of taking up track racing to improve their driving skills. A course of “evasion driving” will also be offered so that chauffeurs of VIPs will be more prepared should they ever encounter a terrorist attack.
