The new face of Thruxton
Brands Hatch can’t take all the glory for circuit improvements this season. Secured for more intensive use by easing of the stranglehold imposed by local planning permission a few years ago, the British Automobile Racing Club has invested £120,000 in improvements at the Hampshire circuit.
New grandstands at Club Corner—the infamous chicane—seat 900 people, a permanent restaurant building and toilet block has been built in the Paddock, spectator banking has been built up in front of the pits for better viewing and will be gradually extended round the circuit, there are two new marshals’ huts and toilets have been improved. A landscaping and tree-planting scheme will be started this winter.
