Not so!
Sir,
I noticed in your report of VSCC Prescott, in the current issue of Motor Sport that you drew the very reasonable conclusion that I did not compete because I was still mending the car after bending it at Silverstone. In actual fact, with the generous and competent help of a friend of mine, I managed to repair the damage in time for the Prescott meeting and practised there on the Saturday. However, the next day, although the sun was shining down on me fortune obviously wasn’t, for on the way to the meeting number two exhaust valve decided to throw in the towel with consequent damage to number one piston. Needless to say I was more than a little disappointed.
