ILL-INFORMED
ILL-INFORMED
Sir, It was with regret that ” we ” hear that BP are to withdraw from racing. However, it was with some surprise that I found, on page 784 of the September issue of MOTOR SPORT, an advertisement for their products. Not .a had advert either; except for the line:
“Once you’re hooked on racing you’re hooked on racing. BP is hoo’zed on racing.”
Either they have had second thoughts or they forgot to alter their publicity campaign. However, it does make one point blatantly clear, and it is not only 131′ who do this: companies are like politicians, they say one thing and mean (sometimes) something entirely different. After all, who would think, looking at the advertisement that they were considering withdrawing from racing.
