1275 Sprite and Midget

THE Austn-Healey Sprite and M.G. Midget are now powered by the 1,275-c.c., 65-b.h.p. engine of the Cooper S. This gives a little more power and better torque than the 1,098,c.c. unit it replaces, and should make a most worthwhile improvement to the performance. A 4-speed gearbox, with synchromesh on three, is fitted.

Hood erection has been improved on the new cars (which are called the Sprite Mark IV and the Midget Mark III). The softtop can be raised or lowered in one arm movement, stowing away neatly when the car is open. Tax paid prices have risen by £48 to £672 for the Sprite, £684 for the Midget.
