Out of The Past, June 1986
Out Of The Past Some time ago we had something to say about early vintage motoring in Wales, in particular in remote Radnorshire, where cars were few and far between…
The retro-styled Taycans featured at Amelia Island
Porsche gave spectators at the Amelia Island Concours a blast from the past as its new all-electric Taycan was adorned in three classic racing liveries. The no23 car bears the red-and-white colours of the 917K which won the 1970 Le Mans 24 Hours by five laps in the hands of Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood. The rapid Porsche 917/20 that stunned in the build-up to the 1971 enduro gets its homage through the famous ‘Pink Pig’ livery. The no59 red-blue-and-white livery pays tribute to the Brumos Racing squad, which won the Daytona 24Hrs four times with the marque.
