Design awards at Vuitton concours
To coincide with the Geneva Motor Show, leading figures from the world of automobile design were on hand to judge the Louis Vuitton Classic Awards 2008/09.
Among others, Toyota design director Wahei Hirai and Fabrizio Giugiaro, design director of ItalDesign, decided that the 1949 Ferrari 166 MM was worthy of the Classic Concours Award. “This 166 MM has a great history, having won the 1950 Mille Miglia,” said jury president Christian Philippsen.
Other winners included the GT by Citroën for the Concept Award, while a Special Jury Award went to BMW for its GINA. Afterwards guests were invited to dinner with Antoine Arnault of Louis Vuitton at the Gastronomique restaurant in the Parc des Eaux Vives Hotel.
